Kids (Ages 5 – 10)
What are some of the most important elements of theatre that every young actor should know? Teamwork, imaginative play, projection, improvisation, knowledge of stage directions, enunciation, and confidence.
These are just a few basic elements that every actor uses. Theatre Fun is an hour long class that will use various theatre games and exercises to teach the basics of theatre! If your child is interested in theatre, but is not ready to commit to a staged production, this is the perfect introduction for them.
Instructor: Brooke Caroline Burns
Brooke Caroline Burns is a local actor and performer. In 2020, she earned a degree in Musical Theatre and a minor in Drama Therapy from Marymount Manhattan College. You may have seen her at a birthday party as Elsa, Ariel, Rapunzel, and various princesses through her own Party Princess company, “Book Brooke.” She also has been in a number of productions at the Broadway Theatre of Pitman since 2019. From 2021-2023, Brooke taught theatre classes at the Tony Award winning Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. Teaching theatre to young actors is one of her passions. Theatre is a beautiful way for everyone to express themselves, while also learning valuable life lessons. She hopes you join her class and can’t wait to see what you will create together!
