Come join us for this holiday gala celebrating Jane Austen's 250th birthday. There will be dances featured in Jane Austen's novel such as Shrewsbury Lasses (Pride and Prejudice) and Sir Roger de Coverley as mentioned in Emma. There will be Regency desserts like Syllabub and Plum Cake. Card games were popular during the Regency period. Whist will be taught. Don't miss having your photo taken with a Regency dandy! Regency attire is admired but not required. Holiday attire is also admired. Fancy dress is your definition.Note, too, that the start time is a half hour earlier. This gives new dancers a little longer for a beginner's lesson, as well as, time for all to check out the fancy Regency dandy.
Jill Horn will be the caller for the evening. Guest callers may also be added.
Music is by Ragged Robin (Martha Edwards, Tim Hirzel, and Bill Boyer.
Admission is $10 for adults; $5 for students. Payment can be made by cash, check, Venmo, or PayPal.
We would be honored by your attendance. Please plan to dance with us.
