The childbirth education class from South Texas Health System explores body changes in the mother during pregnancy, the stages of labor, delivery and postpartum care.Topics include the basics of breastfeeding, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, stages of labor, relaxation and breathing techniques, vaginal and C-section birth videos and newborn care.
Parents are given a tour of the delivery suites.
Price
$50 for non-registered patients. Free for parents preregistered at The Maternity Center at South Texas Health System Edinburg or The Maternity Center at South Texas Health System McAllen.

Schedule
Classes are held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. with a lunch break. Some classes are held in-person at South Texas Health System Edinburg, while others are held virtually via Zoom. Please see the schedule below:
