
About this Event
This free 8-hour course is designed to improve the investigation and prosecution of physical child abuse and child homicide by teaching relevant medical aspects of child abuse to investigators and prosecutors. The course will cover methods of scene investigation, caretaker interviews, suspect interrogation and interviewing medical personnel with the goal of establishing the mechanism and time line of injury. This in turn will assist prosecutors and dependency attorneys with the evidence they need to successfully handle these cases in court.
Who Should Attend: Professionals with duties that include investigating, both criminally and for dependency proceedings, child physical abuse and homicide and those who prosecute or otherwise handle these cases in criminal and dependency court, including law enforcement, DCS/OCWI, AG’s and prosecutors.
