For a child, being hospitalized can be an especially traumatic experience. Loneliness, unfamiliarity with new faces and the environment, and strange equipment and procedures can be a lot to process. That’s why our Child Life Specialists accompany children with toys, books and activities. These items help to distract and support children through scary situations.
