Vitebsk-born, Berlin-based singer, composer, and producer Galina Ozeran aka Chikiss comes to Belgrade with her latest album, Between Time and Laziness. Written in St. Petersburg, Berlin, and Athens, produced in the company of Finnish multi-instrumentalist Jaakko Eino Kalevi, and released on the German label Bureau B, the album renders the existential, psychological, and philosophical in song form. Exploring motivation and self-doubt, the long shadow of the Soviet Union, and collective empathy with a cinematic flair, Chikiss weighs darkness and light, landing on the side of hope in her most considered and polished vocal album to date.Over the past two decades, she has followed her own desire line through post-punk, minimal wave, experimental electronica, and live improvisation to build an impressive catalog of emotive and innovative music.
For this special night at Karmakoma on April 5, she will be joined on stage by the remarkable artists Inturist, Viktor Uzhakov (Ploho), and Dima Midborn, making this improvised gig an unmissable experience for all present.
