About this Event
November's special guest is Chika Jones! Chika is the host of the fabulous Medway Poetry Night, held every month at Turaka on Chatham High Street. He's doing great work providing people with opportunities to watch and perform poetry, so do go along. Chika's poetry encompasses everything from joy to tragedy, the personal and the political, and if you've not seen him then you should.
Here's some more about Chika:
Chika Jones has written and performed poetry for over a decade. Since 2013, when he won a National poetry slam, he has performed at the Lagos Book and Arts Festival, Lagos International Poetry Festival, Ake Arts and Book Festival, ‘Finding Home’ theatre production in Berlin. He moved to the UK in 2021 after endorsement by the Arts Council of England for the Global Talent Visa. He has performed at Sunday Papers Live, Jawdance, and on several other stages. He has been a part of the Soul Food theatre production in Kent in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Before Chika, we have our regular open mic. No need to book to perform, just turn up and sign up. Holy Moly is free to attend, but if you want to support us, you can buy an optional ticket here.
