Explore the Susquehanna with a National Park Service Ranger!Join a NPS Ranger from Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail and SNHA staff on a 1-hour tour of the Susquehanna River. Discover the river's natural heritage and how people have harnessed the power of the river throughout history. Explore the preserved landscape of the Susquehanna gorge and the hillsides that surround the river as you cruise by Safe Harbor Dam.
Built in 1912 for beer tycoon Adolphus Busch, this electric-powered vessel cruised Otsego Lake, the headwaters of the Susquehanna, for over a century. Today she cruises the Susquehanna 400 miles downstream as the flagship for SNHA’s River Discovery Tours!
Ranger Tours depart from the Zimmerman Center every Friday at 12pm. You will experience the joy of being on the water aboard a historic vessel, hear stories of the river, and view beautiful scenery and wildlife. For more information and to get tickets visit susqnha.org/programs/boat-tours/
