The band behind Edinburgh's legendary late night fiestas, Los Chichanos formed to heat up their audiences with pumping live Latin music in the mysterious form of Jungle Cumbia and “chicha”. Originating in Peru, the genre has experienced a worldwide boom in recent years, and it’s clear why – frenzied Latin percussion, jungle sounds, iconic surf-inspired guitar, vintage organ, dark psychedelia and all the raucous rhythms of live cumbia & salsa you could ever dance to! Paskal Rough & Tough (Cool Breeze)
Paskal is a music enthusiast and record collector of variegated music genres, with a main focus on the vintage sounds of the 60s and 70s from Jamaica, the Caribbean and Latin America. He also runs “Cool Breeze” is a music night focused on the vintage sounds of the American tropics travelling restlessly across the Caribbeans islands and the Latin American borders. A musical journey from the Peruvian Andes to the Colombian coasts, listening the pungent lyrics of the calypsonians from Panama and feeling the African inspired drums of the French Antilles, soaking the low frequencies of the Jamaican bass lines and dancing at the hypnotic melodies of the Mexican accordions... and beyond.
