About this Event
Chicago's 1st ever rock skipping contest. Come out for one last awesome day at the beach and get ready to see some AWESOME rock skipping. Our beautiful white sand beach has tons of flat oval shaped rocks, perfect for skipping!
Where: Hartigan Beach (4 minute walk from Red Line "L" - Loyola Stop). Super easy to get here: You're looking at a 5 minute/3-block walk from the Red Line stop. Right turn on Northshore, the beach is one block down the street.
When: Noon. Come earlier to find your rocks on the beach.
Prizes: Trophy to the winner and free beers at the after party at the corner bar (Bulldog Bar https://bulldogalehouse.com/loyola/
For the kiddies: This competition is for adults, but kids are welcome to compete too. Families with kids who want to learn how to skip rocks are welcome to attend a rock skipping tutorial from 11:00 - 11:30 AM
FAQ's:
1. Can I bring my own rocks? Answer: Sure
2. What if there are super high waves the day of? Answer: Rain date is September 25th at noon.
3. Will there be food? Answer: A limited number of sandwiches and chips will be provided. We invite everyone to meet for drinks at Bulldog afterward and congratulate the winner, who drinks for free! All drinks will be served on the rocks (dad joke, lol!) Bulldog has awesome pizza that really rocks.
