This is Kevins ride for Annies Outlaws thrown open....Im just doing the computer bit. Kevin has put me down as leading. As most know I am not a fast rider. I dont mind people overtaking if they want to blast a section, but please, please, give plenty of room to everyone you overtake. Thankyou.
This is a ride of 4 days and 3 nights to Tham Luang Cave where the boys were rescued from. From there the following day we will ride through Phu Chi Fa and onto Phayao.
Meet up at the PTT station on the 118 just outside of the 121 outer ring road.. Stands up 0930. As usual I will be in the Amazon!

Accommodation
In Chiang Rai we will try for the Orchid House or nearby. In Phayao we will try for the same Cozy Nest or nearby, Buakeaw Place not being available this time.
The first stop for a break and regroup will be at H.O.G. coffee shop next to the Caltex filling station a few Km the other side of the 120.

FUELS STOPS
For fuel, there is a PTT station on the 118 a few KM before the turning for Mae Suai
After that there is very little until a PTT station on the other side a few KM before CR bypass that requires U turns.
On Day 2 There is a PTT on Phaholyothin Road over the river but before we get to Route 1 junction.
On Day 3 There is a PTT filling station before we get to Route 1. This would probably be a good idea!. The only fuel station after that appears to be in a town on the 1093 before a few KM before we rejoin the 1155 towards the end of the hilly trek.
A couple of KM onto the 1021 there is a Bangchak. Fuel no cafe.
There is a PT station just before we get to Phayao. Maybe a good idea to top the tanks here ready for the next day.
On Day 4 there is a PTT on route 1 before the 120 turnoff
Day 1
Route 118 most of the way. The first stop for a break and regroup will be at H.O.G. coffee shop next to the Caltex filling station a few Km the other side of the 120.
After leaving the H.O.G. we will continue on the 118 until the 3037. After 1km approximately we will turn left onto an un numbered road for 1.5km to the dam. The restaurant is by the car park.
After the dam will return to the 3037 and turn left for 4km.
We will then turn right onto the 5047.
We remain with the 5047 for 30km until we meet the 1211 and then turn left at Ban Huai San Phlapphla.
After 17km we will go under the Chiang Rai ring road and stay with the 1211.
After 5.5km at Den Ha we will turn right onto Sankhongnoi Road/
After 1.7km we will turn left onto JedYod Road.
After 350M we turn right and a few meters later on the left is the Orchid House.
Day 2.
Stands up 0930
From Orchid House turn right onto Jedyod Road and continue until the Clock Tower.
Take the 3rd exit at the 3 O’Clock position and join Phaholyothin Road.
After another couple hundred meters the roadright angles left and joins Frontage Road.
After a couple of KM we will go straight on and join Route 1.
We will continue on this road for 55km.
We then turn onto an unmarked road which I know doesn’t help much but to help out…

Once you pass Banyong School and the associated foot bridge, you are getting close.
This is where we turn left.
The road turns left around a lake and shortly after turns left away form the lake. Shortly after we turn right and then left to the cave.
Expect to be at the cave about 2 hours. We then go to Choppers for lunch. Choppers is normally closed on a Tuesday but after talking to Tony the owner he is opening especialy for us.
I've told him about 1300 so if possible keep close to that.
We leave the cave and rejoin the road we came in on but this time we turn left.
After a couple hundred meters we reach a T junction where we turn right.
We follow this road for a couple hundred meters and rejoin Route 1.
After 3km we make a U turn. After 800M we turn left off of Route 1 onto Pa Muat 6.
We continue to the end of Pa Muat 6, about 900M and turn left for 50M. Choppers is on the right.
To return, rejoin Route1 the way we came in and a reversal of the route we have just ridden for 58km until we turn right onto Phaholyothin Road. There are 5 lanes at this point, we need the outer 2 lanes and proceed through the lights.
At the clock tower we take the first exit at the 6 O-Clock position bqck on to Jetyod Road and the Orchid House.

Day 3
Onto Jetyod Road and turn left.
After 120M the road veers to the left onto Jetyod Soi 2.
After another 120M we reach Phaholyothin Road where we turn right.
We continue on this road for 3km where we veer left at the Route 1 junction.
We will go straight over route 1 onto the 1020.
After about 7km we will turn left onto the 1421.
After 51km we will rejoin the 1020.
We will turn right on the 1020 and in 700m we will turn left onto the 4018. The BIG DIPPER Road
After 4km there is Rose Farm view point. On Google there is no farm and there is no view!
After 6.5km we come to Phu Long Tan Dragon pool. Views from car park on the right.
After 11km we will turn left onto the 1155.
After 22km we turn right onto the 4029.
After 13km on the right there are 3 restaurants on the right and 2 more just onto the 1093

After 11km we join the 1093.
After 23km we turn right onto an un numbered road.
After 9km we turn left onto the 1155
Keep left and continue on the 1155 for 27km to the 1021
Turn left on the 1021

After 50km arrive in Chun
Turn right in Chun onto the 1021
After 15km turn right onto the 1298
After 4km turn left onto the 1202
After 20k arrive at Route 1 junction in Phayao
Go straight over the junction onto Thanon Pahon Yothin Road
After 1km arrive at roundabout take the first exit onto Chaikwan road
After 700M turn left onto Rathawong Road and after 75M the Cozy Nest is on the Right.

Day 4
I think everyone knows their way back to Chiang Mai from Here.
