A fascinating coalescence of nature and history!Rain date: Oct. 5, 10 AM
Hike along a trail with various identified tree species, see Native American Chestnut trees, and backcross breed chestnut trees, the tabletop overlook, rock quarry remains, wetlands, ledges, and an old homestead stone foundation. Also, possible ancient stonework formations will be sighted. All this is located in the Plainfield part of the Pachaug State Forest. The hike is approximately 2 miles.
Leashed pets are welcome. Follow signs to the small parking area at the end of the dirt road.
