Chester Music Society are pleased to welcome Martin Litton on Piano & Tom Langham on Banjo/Guitar to Chester.
They will be performing a programme showing the development of jazz piano and banjo/guitar styles from Ragtime Stride Piano Boogie Woogie Blues the 1930’s and 1940’s swing era and the Modernistic direction of artists.
Martin Litton is an internationally renowned pianist arranger and bandleader specialising in all the classic styles of jazz from the age of Ragtime through to the Swing era and beyond. He has broadcast frequently on BBC Radio 3 talking about and demonstrating the music of Jelly Roll Morton Fats Waller Earl Hines and Teddy Wilson.
Thomas “Spats” Langham has worked as a professional musician travelled the four corners of the globe and has been lucky to play with many great artists and bands. This includes The Pasadena Roof Orchestra Acker Bilk The Palm Court Orchestra and Chris Barber’s Band to name but a few.
