Think you're good enough to play chess against a Grandmaster? Now's your chance to give it a try! Join us for an exciting afternoon as Grand Master (GM) Nadya Kosintseva plays against up to 40 other chess players. Co-sponsored with the Nashua Chess Club.To participate in the simul:
- Registration is required.
- Participation is for ages 16 through adult.
- Arrive by 10:45 am or your seat may be forfeited.
- GM Kosintseva must be able to recognize the chess pieces at a glance, so players must bring their own traditional boards and pieces to play. If you do not own a board, we have them to borrow. GM Kosintseva will play the white pieces.
- GM Kosintseva will start each game, then move to the next player. You make your move only when GM Kosintseva is in front of you. After your move, she will make her move and go to the next player. You have until your next turn to think about what your move will be. When it's your turn, make your move immediately. If you are not ready to make your move, you can have up to two passes.
Bystanders are welcome to watch.
Please note: While everyone is welcome to this public event, this is a quiet, adult activity, that requires focus and concentration. If younger children need space to move, please visit the Children's Area on the main floor.
