Whether you’re a seasoned strategist or still learning how the knight actually moves, our Chess Club at The Viridian Bookshop is the perfect place to play, learn, and connect.
Starting January 6th, we’ll be gathering every other week from 6:00-8:00 PM for casual games, friendly matches, and plenty of thoughtful conversation over the board. This is a relaxed, community-focused chess night designed for all skill levels.
Our friend, Nate, will be joining us each session to play alongside members and help newer players learn the game. Have questions? Want tips? Curious about openings, endgames, or just how to spot a sneaky checkmate? This is a great space to ask, learn, and improve at your own pace.
We’ll have a limited number of chess boards available on a first come, first served basis, so players are encouraged to bring their own boards if they have one.
No pressure. No clocks unless you want them. Just good games, good company, and a love for the classic game of kings.
