TUG OF WAR COMPETITION The Royal Cheshire Show – Tuesday 18th June, 2024
By kind permission of the Cheshire Agricultural Society, Clay House Farm, Tabley, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 0HJ.
Time:7.00 pm in front of the Table Bar
Club Teams:Teams to comprise of 8 individuals – 6 individuals in the ladies’ teams and 8 individuals in the men’s teams. Competitors should be under the age of 35 with no weight limit.
Awards:Prize Cards to 3rd Place.
The will be a £10 charge for anyone attending the Show Ground on Tuesday evening to watch the Tug of War, this will not apply to anyone who has attended the show in the daytime or any members of Tug of War teams, teams will be given wristbands beforehand.
RULES:
All competitors much be suitably dressed and wear the appropriate footwear. Flat soled boots must be worn, and no stubs allowed.
Only one coach and one trainer to be allowed in the ring with each team.
Points will be awarded as follows: -
3 Points – to the winners in a straight pull (2 straight pulls)
0 Points – to the losers in a straight pull
2 Points – to the winners in the best of 3 pulls
1 Point – to the losers in the best of 3 pulls
The Referee’s decision on illegal pulling (looping the rope, lying down and other underhand tactics) will be final.
