Presented by స్మృతి (Smruthi) – Edition 2Cheriyal painting is a traditional narrative art form practiced by the Nakashi artist community, rooted in the Kakatiya and Vijayanagara periods. Known for its bold lines and storytelling style, it depicts episodes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Indian Puranas.In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of Cheriyal painting using natural pigment colours on khadi cloth and tree gum.You can choose either of the two slots. Time Slot:• Mask Painting: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Create your own Cheriyal mask)• Canvas Painting: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM (Paint a Cheriyal-inspired canvas to take home)The session is conducted by D. Vinay Nakash, a 36th-generation Nakashi artist continuing a legacy passed down since the 13th century.All materials provided | No prior experience needed
