In August 2023, the Chepstow Archaeological Society successfully excavated a timber structure at the spring low tide mark, on the line of the Ancient Crossing of the Wye at Castleford. A further excavation took place at a super low tide event in July 2024. This work forms the core of our exploration of a Roman Crossing and Simon Maddison, Honorary Research Fellow, Institute of Archaeology at UCL, will present an up-to-date summary of these very exciting results.
