Hello dear friends and family!
After two long amazing years, I am super excited to show my new solo to you all!
It was a long time coming. This new work will showcase my movement research from Amsterdam in September of 2023. As a 2022 Mcknight Dancer Fellow and with the support of the McKnight Foundation, this opportunity has made a enormous impact to my growth as an independent artist and provided me a life changing experience that has truly helped my artistic vision. This piece will focus on movement themes from my identity and community.
On this exciting night, there will also be 5 other solos being presented from the amazing 2022 and 2023 Dancer Fellows, which are great friends and colleagues of mine from the Minnesota dance communities.

INFORMATION FROM THE MCKNIGHT:
Each year three exceptional Minnesota dance artists receive the coveted honor of a McKnight Dancer Fellowship. To celebrate them, we commission a solo dance for each of them from a choreographer of their choice. The 2022 & 2023 Dancer Fellows have selected an outstanding group of local, national and international dance artists to bring their choreographic imaginations to new and reimagined works expressly tailored for these exceptional performers. The result is an evening of Minnesota premieres, ranging from Baladi to Breaking to Ballet and more.
SOLO is a commissioning program of the McKnight Fellowships for Dancers. As part of the awarded fellowship, the McKnight Fellowship program commissions a choreographer of each dance fellow’s choosing to create a work expressly for them. These new works are presented every other year as part of an evening titled SOLO. 2024 will mark 20 years of SOLO productions. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate this milestone and these stellar dance artists!
