Cheltenham Film Society, would like you all to join us in celebrating our 80th anniversary at the Tuckwell Amphitheatre, with one of the greatest Coen brothers’ movies, ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’, a semi-satirical, semi-historical, completely brilliant comedy, with a mesmerising soundtrack, starring George Clooney as dapper, silver-tongued Ulysses Everitt McGill.Set in rural Mississippi in 1937, it follows three escaped convicts searching for hidden treasure while a sheriff relentlessly pursues them. Its story incorporates social features of the American South and is loosely based on Homer’s epic Greek poem The Odyssey.
