London’s punk veterans Chelsea are coming to Esquires for the first time next April as part of their 50th anniversary.
Legendary punk band Chelsea was formed in 1976 by front man Gene October. Spearheading the punk movement, their debut single 'Right To Work' was released on Miles Copeland's 'Step Forward Records'which brought the attention of the music press. Gene October was responsible for starting The Roxy Club in Soho where many of the early punk bands started and Chelsea began playing alongside the likes of The Clash,The Damned,The Police & Sham 69.
Expect a set packed with punk anthems like Evacuate and Urban Kids, alongside newer material that proves Chelsea remain as relevant as ever. With October’s trademark sneer leading the charge, the current lineup—Nic Austin (guitar), Mat Sargent (bass), Steve Grainger (drums), and Rob Miller (guitar) will ensure a sweaty, loud, and unapologetically raw show.
