Young chefs will roll up their sleeves and head into the kitchen for a fresh, flavorful cooking experience! In this hands-on Chefs on Wheels class, participants will learn how to prepare a bright and healthy tangerine pomegranate salad while building confidence with real kitchen skills.Along the way, kids will explore citrus fruits up close, learning about the different parts of a tangerine and the many ways citrus peel can be used beyond the plate. We’ll talk about nutrition, including the importance of Vitamin C during the winter months, and practice safe food prep skills like peeling, sectioning, mixing, and measuring.
To wrap things up, participants will also learn how to make a ristra from the tangerine peels.
Note: We will be working with pomegranates, which may stain clothing. Please dress accordingly.
