His roles have included Executive Sous Chef at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bistro and Chef de Cuisine at PRESS in St. Helena.
He launched 816 BBQ Sauce – a Kansas City–style sauce – even before his love of the smoker led him to opening his Napa restaurant. In 2025, Darryl was named a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: California.
