Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 10-12 slices uncooked bacon
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, beaten egg, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
3. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled cooked bacon.
4. Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish or on a lined baking sheet.
5. Wrap the uncooked bacon slices around the meatloaf, overlapping slightly, to completely cover the loaf.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. After 1 hour, brush the top of the meatloaf with additional ketchup if desired, and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) and the bacon is crispy.
7. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
