Ever Wondered About Our Country’s War Graves? Why we have them?
What are they for?
And who they are for?
Well come and find out-
The Commonwealth War Grave Commission (CWGC) has kindly agreed to come and tell us all about them, what the CWGC does, why they do it and how they do it.
Ston Easton Church is hosting the event as an informal and informative fund raiser event. The grave image pictured is the only one in Ston Easton Church’s Graveyard.
The event will take the form of a Cheese and Wine evening presentation by the CWGC at
Ston Easton Village Hall (Green Street, Ston Easton, Radstock BA3 4DA) on Thursday 24th April 2025 starting at 1900. Doors open 1800.
Tickets are £10 per adult to include cheese and biscuits and a glass of wine. With an open bar for those who want more.
The village hall has plenty of car parking, is light, warm & toasty care of its recent refurbishment.
The CWGC wwelcomes questions and intends to bring details of some of the war graves amongst our local churches. Please let us know in advance if you know of any grave of particular interest you wish the CWGC to tell to us about.
Please spread the word to friends and family. It will be fun, interesting and educational!
Please email or text Simon Smedley on [email protected] or mobile 07958 946191 to reserve tickets which will be held for you on the door for collection. Cash only please.
All are welcome, young or old!
