Who’s the best chess player in Memphis? Come find out at Checkmate Memphis: Where Strategy Meets the City! Join us Saturday, October 4, at Peabody Park for the kickoff event hosted by Play Your Park in partnership with the Memphis Chess Club! Free play will be from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Sign up for the tournament by 12:30 p.m. to compete in the first round. Winners will receive trophies and ribbons!
All ages and skill levels are welcome at this FREE series. All equipment is provided, and no registration is needed. The first 60 attendees at the kickoff will receive FREE food.
The fun doesn’t stop after the kickoff. Be sure to join Play Your Park for chess every Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Peabody Park! Refreshments will be provided.
