CHECKMATE begins with a seemingly typical teen house party—but when young Aaron Dame ends up dead, Detectives John Getz and Raymond Morton must unravel a tangled web of secrets. Eight teens are suspected of knowing more than they admit, but as the investigation deepens, the detectives stumble upon clues that reopen a cold case from the year before. With sharp twists, emotional depth, and thought-provoking questions, CHECKMATE keeps audiences guessing until the final moments. This play will challenge your mind about young people and their code of silence, but where that silence can lead.
