WHAT IS CHATURMASYA VRATAM?Chaturmasya Vrata, meaning "four months vow," is a period of intensified spiritual practice observed during the rainy season. Sannyasins observe it for two months, staying in one place to avoid harming small organisms, while householders follow it for four months with various rituals.
Hosting a Sannyasi during this time is considered highly meritorious, offering householders the chance to engage in worship, recitation, and meditation.
Pujya Swamiji is observing Chaturmasya Vrata for 108 days in Rishikesh, delivering Vedanta discourses twice daily, and leading daily Bhagavad Gita chanting and Gita Yantra worship. Devotees can sponsor a day for Rs 11,000/-, supporting these spiritual activities and participating in this sacred period.
WHAT CAN YAJMANS AND PARTICIPANTS DO?
- Participants and yajmans, can join the classes and puja by booking their slots beforehand. They can join physically in Rishikesh if they wish.
- If participants are keen on following the Gita recital but cannot commit to reciting all 700 verses every day, they can be given 18 verses of the Gita to chant daily, which will take just a few minutes. This allows everyone to participate meaningfully in the practice.
