On Saturday 19th October, we are excited to welcome CHASING OPHELIA to The Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds for a night of darkest metal/industrial/punk/thrash terror.
CHASING OPHELIA is the current creative outlet for Andy Guy, formerly the founder of underground industrial music band The State. Self-described as, "A documented account of thoughtful and tortured disconnections of a mind, skirting the edge of the abyss, searching for a lifeline in solemn desperation," the band is completed by Tom Wordley on synths and samples, and Dom Seales on guitar. At once deliciously malevolent and politically astute, Chasing Ophelia bring seething, industrial-strength rallying cries against hypocrisy, injustice and mindless conformity, delivered with staggering intensity.
Support comes from majestically bleak post-punk prodigies SUB-LIMINAL, synth-laded goth darkwave heroes VELVET DEAD, thrash terrorists CHEMICAL PARADOX and psychedelic desert grunge wizards K*ll RETRO.

We take audience safety very seriously at The Hunter Club, and strongly believe that gigs can and should be safe spaces, free from harassment, intimidation, prejudice, bullying and violence. We expect that all artists, venue staff and attendees will respect our values, and we have a zero tolerance policy towards those who do not. Anyone who endangers the enjoyment and safety of others at a Washing Machine night will be ejected and barred. It is unfortunate that in the 21st Century we still have to say this stuff, but we hope that by doing so we can help to create an atmosphere where everyone feels safe and able to enjoy themselves.
