Join us as a panel of trial and appellate counsel from both sides of the bar, as well as judges from the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal provides practical tips and advice regarding Charter challenges. They will discuss best practices for pre-trial negotiations and discussions. Learn the dos and don’ts in preparing materials, witnesses and the accused. Consider and discuss strategic decisions such as whether to call the accused and how to protect the record in the event of an appeal. Our Panel will discuss the art of persuasive advocacy both written and oral at trial and on appeal.
