IT'S HERE! We heard you, and we're making it happen. Mecklenburg Park & Rec is thrilled to present the Charlotte Corgi Club Racing Championship this Spring! Join us on Saturday, May 13th for an entire DAY filled with races, activities, vendors, food trucks, music and more! When: Saturday, May 13th
What: Charlotte Corgi Club Racing Championship presented by Mecklenburg Park & Rec
Where: Reedy Creek Park in Charlotte, NC
This is a free raffle. ONE entry per dog. If you have two dogs (or more) you may submit one entry for each dog. Double entries will be removed. All entries must be submitted by MIDNIGHT on Thursday, March 30th. If we have less entries than we do spots, EVERYONE will get a racing spot!
**BEFORE YOU ENTER YOUR CORGI, PLEASE ASK YOURSELF:
-Does my corgi not really like other dogs?
-Will my corgi be scared or anxious around a lot of people?
-Is my corgi easily startled around a lot of noise?
-Will my corgi snap at other dogs, people, children?
-Am I nervous about putting my corgi in a loud, busy situation for several hours?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, please do NOT enter your corgi. This is a high-stress environment with lots of noise and people (including children). It is not fair to you or the rest of the patrons to bring your dog into this situation.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
-You MUST be available the entire afternoon of Saturday, May 13th. -If you have other plans, please do not submit an entry.
-Because these CORGI RACES, this race is for our corgi friends only. We LOVE our honorary corgis, but this race is strictly for corgis (except our specialty "mix" division). We hope you can understand.
-Timeline, parking, and a complete agenda will be provided closer to the event!
-Each dog will be required to pay a $40 entrance fee
-Racers will be announced Monday, April 3rd!
-If your dog is not chosen and you still want to attend: You absolutely can! You and your dog (ALL breeds welcome) are invited to join in the day of fun.
-There will be a fee to participate via Mecklenburg Park & Rec. It includes your participation in the races as well as (1) t-shirt and other goodies!
160 corgis will be chosen via a FREE lottery system. You can enter your corgi into ONE of the following categories:
-100 corgis will be chosen for our general racing category (ages 4mo to 10 years)
-20 corgis will be chosen for our corgabilities category (has a disability, all ages)**
-20 corgis will be chosen for our senior corgi category (10 and older)*
-20 corgis will be chosen for our corgi mixes category (any breed mixed with a corgi, all ages)**
*Corgi turned 10 as of May 1st, 2023
**If your corgi can fit into two divisions, please select one (i.e. your corgi has a disability and is over 10, please choose which category you would like them in.)
***It is up to you to decide if your corgi has a disability.
Please make sure you fill out this entire form and submit your raffle entry by Thursday, March 30th at MIDNIGHT.
