Hi Sketchers, I wanted to take a look at the weather before I made plans to sketch this next RSS/Urban Sketchers meeting. Looks like it will be a bit cool and cloudy, so I've decided that we should go to the Charles Schultz Museum in Santa Rosa. We haven't been there for a few years and it's a blast. It will be warm inside with plenty of free parking and bathrooms too. Museum opens at 10AM. we'll meet & share at 12:30ish, then head home after.
If you want to stay after our final meet and share period at 1pm, there will be a presentation by Brian Walker. Meet, watch, and talk to Brian Walker, part of the creative team that produces the comic strips Beetle Bailey and Hi and Lois, and author of the new book, Mort Walker's Beetle Bailey: 75 Years of Smiles.
The entry fee is $10 for seniors and $14 for the general public. Bring your sketchbooks, pencils, pens (no liquids allowed inside the building). But I'm sure that colored pencils will be OK. I'm bringing my gray markers and Faber-Castell pens. Don't forget that there is the Warm Puppy Cafe and Ice Rink next door. Also a gift shop that you can't miss. You can sketch outside, weather permitting. I've always wanted to sketch the Ice Rink...
