About the Artist - Francis Arevalo
Francis Arevalo is a third culture, first generation immigrant and artist hailing from the Philippines. His poetry incorporates his love of photography which engages bright contrasts of colour- focusing on themes about change, love, and fitting in.
“I write about things that have been left unsaid between two people, about places we wish we were in again. I grew up not really knowing when I’ll see my friends, or if this place we moved into for now would finally be called home.”
Having spent most of his childhood moving from one country to the other, Francis’ works capture the conversation we have with ourselves when we try to figure out who we are and what our purpose is- all while living with uncertainty.
In this debut project, “My Love, I Give You The Night” Francis talks about the journey one takes when faced with adversity and barriers, and how a small spark in a night of longing can start a chain of galaxies.
