Music by The Beatles remains evergreen, and for classical music lovers, so does the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. In the hands of the Charl du Plessis Trio, similarities and contrasts in these diverse styles are highlighted through new arrangements of swing, blues, and bossa nova. Hits by Bach such as “Toccata in D minor,” “Air,” and “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” are performed alongside The Beatles’ “Let It Be,” “Hey Jude,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” and “Can’t Buy Me Love.” This is the first time the Charl du Plessis Trio is performing music by The Beatles.
