Join me for an(other) outdoor yoga class raising funds for Dorothy House Hospice Care in support of a wonderful friend of mine, Katy.We ran this even back in April and it was so successful and enjoyable that we've decided to run it one more time!

In September 2024, Katy’s husband, Adrian, was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma brain tumour, which there was no cure for. The doctors informed them that with palliative treatment he might live for 12-18 months.
Adrian began chemotherapy as a last-ditch effort to slow the progression of the disease, but the treatment had severe side effects, and his condition deteriorated quickly. Devastatingly, Adrian only lived for two months after his diagnosis.
Throughout this time, Dorothy House went above and beyond, providing invaluable care and support not only for Adrian but also for Katy and their family. Even after his passing, Katy and her two boys, aged 11 and 8, are receiving grief support from Dorothy House, as they begin the difficult journey of navigating life as a family of three.

Katy is taking on a Trek Machu Picchu challenge in 2026 to honour the adventurous spirit she and Adrian shared whilst raising funds for Dorothy House. The funds raised will cover her trip costs and, most importantly, provide vital funds to support the charity to continue its work.
Dorothy House, like many hospices, are facing unprecedented demand with little government funding, and I imagine we all share Katy's belief that everyone should have access to this vital care when the time comes.
It amazes me how amidst going through such an unimaginably hard time, Katy has found the strength to set a positive, meaningful goal to work towards that gives back to those who cared for Adrian in his final days. Katy is such a kind, caring and wonderful person, and this is my way of doing something to support her.

There isn’t a set cost for this event, instead it’s an invitation to please donate what you’re able to (suggested minimum of £5). You can donate by cash or card on the day, and I’ll then be donating all money raised to Katy’s fundraising page after the event. You're also very welcome to donate directly to Katy's fundraising page.
I’m so pleased to say Katy will be with us for this event! I hope you’ll join me in supporting her by coming along and donating what you can. Please also feel free to invite others and bring along friends/family.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
