Charity Spring walk along the Malvern Hills for George's Fund - 11 miles - End 2 End

This will be a special charity walk along the length of the Malvern Hills over all the tops. It is a beautiful time to walk here as many of the hills will be covered in Bluebells.
George woke up his normal cheeky self one morning but after he had wolfed down his marmite on toast he went on to be sick. After that moment, little did we know our lives would be turned upside down forever.
After George had been sick, he had a lie-down and when he woke up his face had dropped on the one side so we called 999.
We were rushed to Birmingham where the next morning George was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma - (DIPG) which is a highly malignant brain tumour (cancer). DIPG affects children almost exclusively who are between the ages of 4 and 11 and children typically experience a month or less of symptoms before diagnosis and then worsen rapidly. Due to the location of the tumour survival rate is 0%.
In George's case, the tumour had haemorrhaged (explaining an even more sudden downfall) and we were told he would die at any moment. In the consultant's words; "You have been hit by lightning".
6 weeks later on the 12th of October 2020, George passed away at home in our arms.
“George’s Fund give grants to local projects that support primary-aged children overcome physical and emotional barriers through the outdoors”
Tickets for this walk are £35.
Apart from the cost of hiring the coach, all proceeds go directly to the Charity.
This payment is non-refundable.
This will be a hard but rewarding hike on one of the most popular routes in the country.
10 miles, 15 peaks and around 3,000 ft of elevation.
The 'End 2 End' walk on the Malvern Hills is consistently voted in the top 10 walks in the country by walking magazines.
The Malvern Hills are almost in a straight line-ish, so you have great views of Herefordshire, Wales, Black Mountains etc on one side and on the other side you have great views of the Cotswolds and the Severn Valley.
None of this escaped our ancient ancestors. Add in the mix 47 natural fresh water springs to be found in and around the Malvern Hills
and you will start to understand why this place was so sacred in our Bronze/Iron Age past. Infact we will walk over and explore British Camp & Midsummer Hill, two of the most impressive Iron Age Hillforts in the country.
Please only come on this walk if you are a good level of fitness and can sustain almost constant descending/ascending for six hours.
We will have a break at the cafe/kiosk at British Camp, there are toilets here also. We will also stop for a break at Wyche Cutting.
Bring snacks and water to sustain you through the hike.
Please bring plenty of layers and waterproofs.
We will meet at Priory Road South car park ( opposite Splash Leisure Centre ) 8.30am. Coach will leave at 9am prompt so please give yourself enough time to park and pay and display - £4 for 24 hrs.
Then it's a 30 minute drive on the coach to the start.
