We invite you to Charity Meetup Birmingham

Come along to network with others from the 3rd sector in the heart of Birmingham.

This Charity Meetup will consist of facilitated networking sessions in groups and pairs to help you share skills and build relationships in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Date and time: Tuesday 29th November, 4.30-6.00pm

Venue: Upstairs at The Good Intent, 32-33 Great Western Arcade, Birmingham B2 5HU

Hosts: Vicky Kangurs and Hope Drew

Who is this event suitable for? Charity Meetup is open to anyone working in a charity, not-for-profit, CIC, community project etc.

We also welcome freelancers/agencies that support the sector and are happy to share their insights to benefit charities.

Please bring business cards if you have them.

Tickets: Tickets are limited to a total of 30 places to ensure attendees get maximum benefit. They cost £5 for charities or £10 for freelancers/agencies.

A cup of tea, a coffee or a glass of orange juice is included in the ticket price. Further drinks may be purchased from the bar.

COVID statement: Please feel free to wear a face-covering at the event if you wish. We would be grateful if you could do a lateral flow test prior to attending and take a second test afterwards.

If you test positive after the event, please let Vicky know asap ([email protected]) who will inform the attendees via email. Please refrain from posting on social media as this may cause unnecessary panic.

Accessibility: Unfortunately due to the age of the building there is no lift within the venue itself, but the Great Western Arcade has a separate set of stairs which we're told may be easier to ascend and descend than the stairs within the pub. Please email Vicky if you need more information and she will contact the Arcade for details.

Images and videos: We will be taking a few photos and videos during the event to use on social media and to promote future events. Please let Vicky or Hope know if you would not like to be included.

Charity Meetup is a friendly and welcoming but useful event

It is designed to make it easy, affordable and enjoyable for people working in (or with) not-for-profits to gain and share skills, foster and grow connections and develop collaborations.

The events were created by Dawn Newton after she noticed there were an array of meetings on offer, but nothing which supported participants to network in a practical way through facilitated activities.

The Meetups began in London and Buckinghamshire in 2015. In early 2020, we attempted to bring the group to the Midlands to help support those in the sector through challenging times but, due to the pandemic, we were forced to meet online instead.

We now have one virtual event per month that everyone is welcome at. It is held every second Tuesday of the month (10-11.30am) and is organised and hosted Vicky Kangurs and Hope Drew. We also hold in-person events and virtual seminars every quarter.

We have active Facebook and LinkedIn groups which anyone is welcome to join.
