About this Event
Gambling addiction is one of the most common addictions, harming millions. It can affect anyone, at any time.
This pilot session of the newest training offer from Chapter One is aimed specifically at healthcare professionals working in a clinical setting, including;
- GPs and primary care nurses
- Mental health practitioners and community health workers
- Social prescribing link workers and community nurses
The training will help;
- Build an understanding of the risks and harms of gambling and how serious they are
- Be able to list the causes of gambling addiction – the role of the industry and the addictive nature of some gambling products
- Address stigma and prejudice, start to build empathy and belief that ‘it’s not the fault of the individual suffering gambling harms’quam mauris felis, ullamcorper sit amet lacus sagittis.
- Build skills, confidence and knowledge so participants can identify if someone needs help and support
- Know how to ask the right questions and have a conversation about gambling
- Know where to go for information, specialist treatment and support. Help people take some simple steps now
We ask that after the training session is completed you remain with us, and our evaluators, to provide feedback on the training offer. Including its suitability for the audience, any additional recourses that would support in practical application of the knowledge gained and delivery of the information.
