Alanna Lawley’s solo exhibition, Seepage From My Primal Fountain permeates the depths of female bodily experience and sensual and ethereal exploration – bridging this intuitive connection she invites performance artist & embodiment facilitator Storm Hartley to craft a unique trilogy of events during Berlin Gallery Weekend in response to her ongoing drawing series, Let Me Tell You How You Feel.
Chapter 1
Chapter 1 entices an emerging field of inquiry into creation cosmology. Voyaging into the allure of the night, drenched within a watery abyss, we invite the energy of the void to establish itself as a central theme in our ritual.
Exploring the spaces between art and healing, inspired by the wisdom codes of plant medicines, storytelling and connected rituals to cultivate intrinsic exchanges, we cultivate an artform of blurring the earthly and the ephemeral, creating altered states through atmospheres, sound and space, and ideas such as delicacy, temporality and permeability interplay creatively within this series of offerings.
A balance between quiet mornings and immersive evenings, sound journeys and tea ceremonies invite a surreal and absurd performativity to fuse within a cosmos of dreaming into lucidity.
Our evening unfolds with a Blue Lotus tea ceremony, exploring the bridge between ancient rituals and art - touching on traditions, storytelling and remembered history, merging with deep dreaming, psycho-acoustic soundscapes and surreal imagery.
The event will take place on the exhibitions’ communal yoga matting. To prepare accordingly, the space will also be set up with blankets. You are welcome to bring any kind of comfortable attire you enjoy, such as meditation cushions or warm clothing. There is no toilet on site so please do keep this in mind. We will arrange with a premise outside the building.
