About this Event
Cadence is an adult SATB choir which started as a Madrigal group. It was a small number of friends meeting together, just for fun, to sing unaccompanied music. Cadence soon became well known locally, singing at weddings, charity concerts and services and concerts at both Bath Abbey and Bristol Cathedral.
The choir enjoys singing a wide variety of music, from folk songs and madrigals to larger scale works. Unaccompanied sacred music is probably their favourite style. With other friends Cadence has visited and sung in France, Poland, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, and the Czech Republic.
Some highlights of these trips have included singing in Chartres Cathedral, St Giles Edinburgh, St George’s Basilica Prague, Sens Cathedral, Canterbury Cathedral and the stunning Montserrat Mountain Abbey. Many of the friends in Cadence have been singing together for nearly 40 years!
Please note:
- Please meet at Home Farm up to 45 mins before the advertised start time to enjoy your complimentary hot drink and homemade mince pie. You will be led down to the chapel for the start of the concert.
- Please bring a torch and dress for the weather as the chapel can get cold.
- The chapel is approximately a 15 minute walk from Home Farm. Our mobility bus will be available for those who require it. The short, steep path down to the chapel is unsuitable for wheelchairs.
- Accompanied children aged 10-16 years old are very welcome.
