About this Event
Chaos or Community? A Kingian Nonviolence Workshop
Come join us at the Midland Library for an interactive workshop on Kingian Nonviolence! On the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination, and as the country reels under an onslaught of federal cuts and changes, explore Dr. King's teachings and how they can be applied in our own time. During the session, we'll share our concerns about what's happening in our communities, see ways people are taking empowered action today, and identify options for action in the present moment. You will walk away from this two hours more grounded in the principles and steps of nonviolence. This in-person event promises to be enlightening and empowering. Don't miss out on this opportunity to grow and connect with others! This workshop is presented by Pam Smith and Matt Guynn, certified Kingian Nonviolence trainers at the Addie Wyatt Center for Nonviolence Training and On Earth Peace. Beginning at Noon on this same day, consider making your voices heard by joining protest marches in Portland.
