About this Event

An often forgotten but still incredibly important project management function is change management. Change management is the process which general contractors and subcontractors handle changes to the contract. These changes can often result delays and losses, and if not handled properly, eat away profit margins, hurt reputations, and force contractors to pay liquidated damages. This class series will demystify change orders and claims by providing attendees tried and true methodologies for handling changes on the project.

Part 1(12/5): Basics and Key Components of Claims & Change Management

Objective is to understand basic components of claims, mechanisms to help identify changes to the contract, practical measures to track and progress the change management process, and understanding the differences general contractors and subcontractors have in the process

Part 2 (12/12): Preparing & Negotiating Time Extension Requests

Objectives is for attendees to learn what are elements and project management functions necessary to analyze delays, understand common contract requirements surrounding time extensions, and lessons learned in negotiating time extension requests

Part 3 (12/19): Calculating Loss of Productivity & Other Complicated Damage Type

Objective is for attendees to gain great clarity about cost damage types that are often forgotten on change order requests.
