About this Event
Thank you for joining us for this very special event ‘Change Her Story: A Mother’s Day Fundraising Luncheon’. Your presence is a gift that will change the story for the moms and babies that Compassion is serving via the Survival Program.
Together, we will share a beautiful buffet luncheon as well as hear from Ann Voskamp. Ann is the wife of a farmer, mama to seven, and the author of the New York Times bestsellers The Broken Way, The Greatest Gift, Unwrapping the Greatest Gift, and the sixty-week New York Times bestseller One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are, which has sold more than 1.5 million copies and has been translated into more than twenty languages. Her latest book is Waymaker: Finding the Way to the Life You've Always Dreamed of. Named by Christianity Today as one of fifty women most shaping culture and the church today, Ann is a passionate advocate for the marginalized and oppressed around the globe, partnering with Mercy House Global, Compassion International, and artisans around the world through her fair trade community, Grace Crafted Home. She and her husband took a leap of faith to restore a 125-year-old stone church into The Village Table, a place where everyone has a seat and belongs.
We are so pleased to share that all proceeds of ticket sales will go towards supporting Compassion's Survival program. This is made possible by the generosity of Burlington Convention Centre who are covering the costs of the meal, staffing and venue. Through Compassion's Survival program, these funds provide moms and babies living in poverty with life-transforming support, including pre- and post-natal care, life-saving medical interventions, nutritious food, and the opportunity to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ in the context of a caring local church.
Because attendees will be receiving a meal for the ticket cost of $60/person (representing the market value of the meal, venue and staffing), Compassion Canada is unable to issue a donation receipt on the ticket purchase price in accordance with CRA regulations. However, donations received over and above the ticket price will be receipted. There will be an opportunity at the event to give a donation.
Please note that this is a family-friendly event, and not an event just for women. The first 50 children under 12 can be registered for free if accompanied by an adult. There will not be a refund for tickets purchased. If you are unable to attend, please consider gifting your ticket to a friend or family member.
