About this Event
For this tasting, we thought we'd showcase not one, but three of the great grapes. Riesling, possibly the most misunderstood variety of the white wine world, is sometimes bone-dry and mineral, other times aromatic, baroque and a little sweeter; chardonnay is generally much broader and rounder but, as Jancis Robinson once opined, is a 'bit of a tart' and can be made in all manner of different styles, from minerally Chablis to decadent oaked Napa creations. And finally Chenin, the great 'apple-y' grape variety, can yield up Granny Smith freshness in the Loire while often producing something more tropical and baked-fruited in South Africa. This is a great tasting for anyone wanting to learn more about these ubiquitous and famous varieties, taking in history, geography and, most importantly, lots of wine!
Our shop tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. We will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese and charcuterie is provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
