Northern Lights: Music of Legends and RomanceThe COSI Winter Concert celebrates the drama and beauty of Northern Europe, from the heroic sweep of Sibelius’ Finlandia to the lyrical charm of Sinding’s Rustle of Spring, the pageantry of Halvorsen’s Entry March of the Boyars, and the folk-inspired vitality of Grieg’s Symphonic Dances. The evening’s centrepiece is Bruch’s lyrical and romantic Violin Concerto in G minor, performed by Richard Roper, a long-standing pillar of Northamptonshire’s musical life through NMPAT, conductor of the Northamptonshire County Youth Orchestra, and a highly skilled violinist. We are honoured to accompany him in this timeless Romantic masterpiece.
