About this Event
The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia presents a program of Classical and Baroque music that would
have been known and loved by Philadelphia’s own Benjamin Franklin. Italian Baroque composers like Corelli and Boccherini were known to populate the Founding Father’s personal libraries, while in Paris, Franklin and Jefferson met and admired Mozart and Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges.
Celebrate Independence Day in our nation’s birthplace listening to the favorite music of Philadelphia’s most famous revolutionary. Bring your camp chair and a picnic while you enjoy the concert in the Powel House Garden.
This program was made possible by PNC Arts Alive and our partners at the Philadelphia Society for the
Preservation of Landmarks and Christ Church, Philadelphia.
