Join us in the Art Deco Salon of The Cosmopolitan Club of Philadelphia for an enlivening performance of Chamber Music. Held in cooperation with Allegro Music Consultants, this inaugural concert features violist Matthew Cohen and pianist Zhenni Li-Cohen in a wide-ranging and entertaining program of Brahms Sonata in G Major, the West Side Story Suite by Leonard Bernstein plus selections from Ernest Bloch, Franz Liszt and George Gershwin who once played the Cosmopolitan Club’s unique Art Deco Steinway Grand Piano. Meet the artists at a wine & cheese reception following the program.

Zhenni Li-Cohen’s riveting presence and passionate performances have brought audiences to their feet around the world. She is the winner of the 2017 New York Concert Artists Worldwide Debut Audition, Astral Artist’s 2016 National Auditions, the Grieg International Competition in Norway, and the unanimous 1st Prize at the Concours Musical de France. Ms. Li earned her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School in 2012. She obtained her Artist Diploma at Yale School of Music and completed her doctorate studies at McGill School of Music in Canada.

Matthew Cohen is a dynamic and versatile artist whose captivating performances have made him one of the most sought-after violists of his generation. Matthew has distinguished himself in numerous national and international competitions, most recently receiving the top prize awarded at the Cita di Cremona International Viola Competition in Cremona, Italy, first prize at the 2016 Julliard Concerto Competition. Matthew is a graduate of the Juilliard School’s Master of Music program, earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Cleveland Institute of Music and received an Artist Diploma from Colburn Conservatory. Currently he is violist with the Formosa Quartet.
