Challenging Day Hikes That Are Not Rim to Rim

By now, we have all heard the devastating news about the Grand Canyon Lodge and the North Rim of Grand Canyon. So many of you have been training for or contemplating a Rim to Rim hike in the near future and since so much is unknown right now, there is no reason to scrap the idea of a challenging hike, as there are numerous - some that can put Rim to Rim to shame. We will discuss some of these trails for day hiking (and backpacking if you prefer) in Arizona and California that will provide you with an enormous sense of hiking accomplishment.
