“Chalk it Up For Kids in the Arts!” is an immersive visual arts event for parents, kids, local visual artists, and creative folks of all ages.Join us for a fun-filled four-hour artistic experience on Saturday, May 17th (during Rhody Weekend), from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the front parking lot of the C.R.O.W. Center for the Performing Arts.
Participants will have the opportunity to purchase a square of asphalt to decorate with vibrant sidewalk chalk. Each square will contribute to creating a stunning, collaborative "quilt" that celebrates the creativity of our community.
12” squares cost $20 and 24” squares cost $40. Squares can be purchased ahead of time at www.crowkids.com/chalk-it-up or on the day of the event.
Once completed, the finished masterpiece will be photographed and shared for everyone to enjoy! Plus, there will be exciting prizes such as free tickets and gift cards awarded for the most creative masterpieces.
There will be a scrumptious bake sale on site, and icy cold lemonade available for purchase. All proceeds will support C.R.O.W.’s upcoming Summer programs, including scholarships for youth to attend 2025 summer camps, dance classes, and workshops.
Can’t decorate a square yourself? Sponsors are needed. As a sponsor, you’ll help provide the next generation of young performers with invaluable opportunities to learn, grow, and showcase their talents while gaining positive exposure for your business. Sponsorships are available in $100 and $250 increments. There are also four limited edition “Megasquares” available for $500 each. The amazing C.R.O.W. kids will decorate squares purchased by sponsors or you can jump in and join them. Sponsors will receive special recognition on our website and social media as a thank you.
C.R.O.W.’s Artistic Director, Melanie Heard says, “This fundraiser comes at an important time when C.R.O.W. desperately needs the community’s support. ‘Chalk it Up’ is a family-friendly, hands on day where people can bring out their inner child, work together on a creative goal, and have a lot of laughs -all while supporting a great cause–our kids in the Arts!”
