Following Holika Dahan and Holi, the early morning Sun heralds the onset of Chaitra and brings with it light winds carrying the sweet scent of the meadows. The air resounds with the sounds of chirping Koels, and the evening’s cool starlit nights add charm.
The atmosphere brims with devotion and romanticism. Devotion is ripe in the festivities for the Devi through Ghata Stapana and awakening the Devi and seeking her blessings. It is also a time when the wedding of Shiva with Gauri is celebrated. If the Ganas are adorning themselves then should Nandi, the vehicle, be left behind?
Young couples are found dancing against flowering creepers and the boys too express their joyful youth and vigour. The cool breeze of the moonlit night brings in its wake a range of expressions - yearning, pain of separation as well as hope, anticipation, laughter and happiness.
